After an extensive search for an Architect, we commissioned Alan Rudge to design the renovation and extension of our home. Our detailed brief to Alan was to design something that will create additional living space and does not detract from the existing character of our home.
From the moment we met Alan we instantly knew we had a great Architect that we could work with. At the initial meeting Alan developed a number of hand drawn concept designs which we could visualise. The design work was very challenging due to the topography of the site and the existing building design.
Alan is a talented designer and professional in his approach. In addition he is very cognisant of how to manage different stakeholders during the design and consultation process to best achieve the desired outcome. These skills have helped with obtaining the approval for our development.

This is to outline my experience with Alan Rudge in his capacity as Nambucca's local Architect.
Our first work with Alan was in our role as Building Contractors for the construction of the Nambucca Town Library in 1992-1993.
Alan designed and administered the building contract with us on behalf of Nambucca Shire Council. At all times we found him to be firm but fair and we enjoyed the rare mutual satisfaction of bringing the project to completion on time and under budget.
In 1994 Alan was the Architect/Project Manager for the construction of the V-Wall Tavern in Wellington Drive. Our company was involved in the placement of all structural steel and concrete as directed by Alan. We found him to be a pragmatic, knowledgeable and considerate Project Manager who somehow managed to keep everyone on site motivated and well-coordinated despite the intense pressure of a Xmas deadline.
More recently, in my role as President of the Board of Directors of the Nambucca Leagues & Sport Club Alan was appointed to achieve a staged D.A./C.C. for the re-development of the Club.
The Board of Directors was impressed with his practical knowledge of the commercial operation of Licensed Premises and the application of his technical and design skill to provide us with an attractive, economically viable scheme (currently under construction).
I have no hesitation in recommending Alan as a rarity amongst Architects; someone with a highly professional yet practical approach to construction, and with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of our community.

The first time I saw Rob’s place when the scaffolding came down, it took my breath away. For so long, some of these buildings have looked like they were missing their front teeth and to see his place now looking so majestic is heart warming.
